I have a newborn and he always has blow-outs in Huggies.
So now I got Pampers .. they seem to work better! but he still had a blow out today.
My friend said to buy diapers in 1 size above his size. Does this work? or will they be too baggy in the leg????

I ALWAYS have blow out issues with Huggies. I recommened that he is probably into another size already. So get the next size up in Pampers and I think you'll probably see how much better it gets.

Huggies are best for me b/c Pampers smell funny. Getting a bigger size does help with the blow outs, but it is more expensive. If they are too baggy on the legs, just attach the flaps lower on the front to make the leg openings more snug.
I have a 2 month old, a 21 month old and a 38 month old, so I've had my share of blow outs! The car seat ones are the worst! Yikes! Good old stain-happy, yellow breast milk poop!

I used Huggies when I first came home from the hospital, within a week I was using Pampers, they are the best, he will be 2 months and I'm still using Pampers, but I also use a size bigger. Congrats and Good Luck!

Newborns & blow-outs go together like peanut butter and jelly! If I were you, I'd stick to the size diaper your son should be wearing based on his weight. (Otherwise, you'll have leakage everytime!) I still use both Huggies & Pampers for my son. (I decide when I'm at the store based on what I have a coupon for.) When he gets a little older and makes solid poop, you might be able to get away with a cheaper diaper. Until then, stick with what's working!

Yes, I noticed that when my daughters diapers got to small she would explode out of them more often. I never followed the weight on the boxes of the diapers. She would tend to grow out of them before the max weight limit. It won't hurt to try the bigger size, and give it a try. Put one on him, and see how his exploding problem goes. If it makes it worse, then you can wait for a few more weeks then they will fit him.

I did like pampers better until my daughter got to the pampers cruisers size. Then I liked the huggies supprime better. I do not like the regular huggies at all. Now I use 7th generation, all nice and natural.

I go with Huggies most of the time - and 1 size bigger too. With his size, I'd have to change him every 3 or 4 hours. But with 1 size bigger, no blowouts for 8 hours. That's good because I don't have to change diapers at night.

Pampers work way better (for me anyways). I had way less "blow-outs" or leaks. With a newborn you are always guaranteed to have a few leaks every so often. When my daughter leaked a few to many times I switched her to a bigger size and that seemed to help.
It also depends on what position your newborn is in when he does his business. The worst for me was when my daughter was in her swing or her carseat because she was sitting up and it all just squished out the back. There's really nothing to be done about their little messes but trust me, Pampers leaves you with less of them!
Good luck!

when I stayed at the hospital they used pampers and they were great but I switched once to huggies and didn't like it, so now it's back to pampers but don't get bigger size they are usually marked like up to 7 lb, or 7 to 10 or 10 to 14lb. any way if its coming out of the legs maybe his thighs are little so get a smaller size. but if it's coming out of the back then you need to make it tighter, you know those two yellow wings put one slightly on top the other. it shouldn't be too tight you should ba able to stick two fingers in comfortably.

babies have blow outs in every brand, but you will eventually find the one that works right for your baby. We used the "cheap" style of pampers, they just seemed to fit the best. But my sister in law swears by huggies.

For my son, pampers, huggies, and luvs all worked just fine. It was the cheap store brands that leaked.
