many strings connected us and still remain....I think it was more allowing us to be independent, because they could not stop us Napoleon prevented them from really going at us...Diplomatically, we are the child still sometimes.

Interesting question, but it would require a few hours of debate to dig into it

It seems the opposite is true. The US has far more influence within the UK, cultural and politically, than the UK has on the US. The British Empire fell decades ago and the US gov't has since then set up puppet regimes around the globe to do its bidding.

There are more than 1,000 McDonald's outlets in Great Britain. I doubt the same could be said about a comparable fish 'n chips franchise making such headway stateside. LOL

...We're not ruled by England anymore, are we? I hope not. That's the only way we could've lost the war, so I don't know what other point you could be making.

No, I'm pretty sure we still won that one. I think it's the reason we celebrate July 4th and the reason we don't pay taxes to the United Kingdom.

Hmm, I'm having a hard time interpretting your question. Are you saying the UK is influencing our government? Becuase the UK is far more liberal and socialist than us. So we still won.

Are the schools teaching that now? They might as well for all the politically correct history revisionism that goes on there.
