I don't hate him, life's too short to hate but some of his decisions have left me scratching my head.
I voted for him in 2000 and figured he'd probably do alright. I did kinda like him, thought it was a shame he didn't drink, he seemed like a fun person to have few beers with.
I'm an Independent so I'm not beholding to any party but after Clinton, who I also liked, I thought we should have a conservative in the white house. Some one who would come in and continue the progress Clinton and the majority republican congress had made with the budget.
That didn't happen, it was disappointing.

To answer the question it would depend on far too many factors, like who is the opponent. Or do you mean identical circumstances just knowing what we know now?
If you mean the latter, then absolutley.
From what I have seen most people who really don't like him are basing this solely on the fact he is not from their party. I say this because the vast majority of the reasons given to NOT like or vote for him are based on distortions of truth at best; or as in the Dan Rather case, outright lies the left defends because they believe the story is true even though the "facts" to support it are false and they know it.
As an example: all of the noise made about Bush being AWOL, and losing his flight status because he "skipped" a physical is laughable. Any person with more than a brief time in the military can look at the service records posted by the anti-Bush left themselves and clearly see the facts are well documented. (so can anyone who can read, it's just easier to understand and find if you've seen the jibberish before) They say he was AWOL because he was not evaluated for a long time. In the military you must be at a command for a minimum period to be evaluated. The records state he was not there long enough to be evaluated, nothing about being AWOL. By stating he was not there long enough, they clearly state he WAS there. With regard to losing flight status: this happened because the command he was at was not a flying command and had no flight surgeon. Another fact clearly stated in the record, yet ignored by the left. I must admit I was completely shocked to see it is that plain, but it is. I thought the records would be vague, but they are not.
I'd be happy to enlighten anyone who's interested, or so consumed with hatred they have forgotten how to read, an any of the other issues that purportedly are harmful to Bush.
It takes courage to make difficult decisions that you know will cause others to die NOW. It takes a coward to make easy decisions that will cause people to die LATER.
I would love to hear why you are in such awe...did you ever stop and think it's because you are bombarded constantly with information about how everyone hates him and disagrees with him? If that were true he wouldn't have been re-elected. Kerry was a God to the left. Clearly the facts are a little distorted.
I was an independent until the 2000 Election. As I watched CNN I began to notice that states always fell to Bush with the reporter letting us know in a solemn "plane crash kills 500" kind of voice, while with a marked improvement in attitude we would learn that Gore always won them. I started flipping to NBC, ABC, CBS, CNBC, HNN...all the same. Gore "won" states, they "fell" to Bush. If you watch that and still think there's no bias in the media, well...your an idiot. Or a Democrat.
I guess I could have left the idiot off there, sorry.

I voted for Bush both times and if it was possible for him to run a 3rd time, I would not vote for him.
I respect the man for sticking to his convictions, despite all the lies, disrespect and down right hatred the Dems have displayed. This president has to fight the war, the media and all the left wing bull $hit all day, every day. For that reason, I know he can no longer be effective, so I wouldn't vote for him again.
I hope a Republican gets in again and also takes back the Senate, then I will be happy to see those Dems Squirm.

I would re-elect him! He has been so bashed by the liberal media! He has my vote because he saw a goal and made it his mission and let nothing stand in his way of accomplishing it. He's strong, he's tough and our enemies respect him for this as they haven't attacked us since. He doesn't care what people say cause he believes he's doing the right thing and thats all that is important to him. He's not perfect. He's had to deal with more than any of our presidents have had to and kept our country afloat. The liberals have done everything in their power to bring him down but haven't succeeded. Sad. Our economy is good, we are still safe, we aren't going without anything and are still free!

Everyone I am close to, conservative or liberal, would not vote for Bush if given the opportunity now. Doesn't mean some of them didn't in the past, sure they did. They wouldn't now. Mainly because they've seen what a bad job he's done as president. Few could do worse, very few.

I would and did not vote for him. Seems the die hard republicans will stand by him no matter what. As for those that hate him,...to date it is 3792 reasons why. That is the number count of dead US soldiers. Any more questions?

No I wouldn't. I want a real conservative president. Bush is quite liberal on many issues. Especially when it comes to spending and illegal immigration.
I neither love nor hate the man. I support him on some stuff and disagree on others. All in all, he is not as bad or good as many say.
