1600 x .30 tax bracket estimate + = 480
480 + 1600 = 2080
You must make 2080 a month or 24,960 a year which is only about $12/hr if you work 40 hrs a wk.
Most people will under estimate your tax burden but I considered state tax averages and other hidden taxes to give you a realistic number.

You'd need to be earning at least $10 per hour, I worked it out on an average 40 hour week, and this is before taxes, because I'm not sure what your taxes cost.
Hope that helps

Alot of things factor into this .... such as do get paid weekly or biweekly or semi monthly ... it also depends on how many dependents you have .... unless you are talking gross salary only which is not what you are saying .... you already know your deductions ...INS, FICA, State Tax ...if you have it,ss, they all come out ... so i will do it on a person making $12.50 hr on a 80 hr pay week $1000.00 depending on dependents you could bring home 800 eow ... however if you are asking this to work on a raise or looking for your future employment do this easy formula ... take your hourly wage and multiply it by 40 -- then multiply it by 52 (number of weeks in a yr) then divide it by 12 -- than will give you your gross ... but it is impossible to figure what it will take you to get where you want to be without all the info ... however been this is my niche and i don't charge for it i will be glad to help you work that out and pin it down more for you once you have more information...hoped this helped a little ... Consider that Uncle Sam might want 20-25%...so add that amount to your $1600 and divide with the amount of hours you want to work a week...that will give you a good guess.

$1,600.00 per month, huh? If they're the wealthy, what in hell does the working class earn up there? I have to believe that you work for the government. I don't know if I'll live through all this. Not even sure that I want to. Sounds like the USA.

It all depends on where you live and what deductions you have to pay. Some states don't have income tax. Also, some states choose high income taxes to offset other government expenses. Check out the website below. You can navigate it to find income tax rates and tax brackets for where you live.
