yes I have a bigsby set into the wood by Link Wray on a 1975
gibson les paul deluxe version . it's much better than using the tail piece if you have the know how .if it's not a solid body you can use the tailpiece type .

if youd want a whammy on your les paul youd have to get rid of your bridge. The the gibson styled bridge doesent support a bar. you would have to replace it with a floyd rose or a strat style bridge. it might be hard to do because the les paul dosent have a string thru body. if i were you i wouldnt worry because i never use the whammy bar but if you wanted one, i would trade your les paul in for an ibanez or jackson, those guitars are alot higher quality than epiphones.

Most decent Paul copies have stud mount bridge assemblies... assuming yours IS one, it is very easy to change the guitar over to a vibrato tail piece ("whammy bar")

Ask the guitar tech at your favorite music shop and I'm sure he will be able to show you several options that will fit your guitar in varying range of price (and quality).
