i think it depends on the health of the other guys on the team and also if they can make one more deal before the season starts.

With the return of Mihm and also with them keeping Bynum (assuming he doesn't get traded) - they'll have to justify keeping Bynum by trying to get him the ball more.

Kobe has always been able to do what the team needs him to do to win. He obviously has a lack of talent around him- so he's had to score- but he shows that he can do other things to win- and nobody how much someone is a hater- if you have followed Kobe's career the one thing he is about is winning!

The past few seasons he's been more a facilitator in the first half and becomes the scorer when they need him to catch up or stay ahead- and off course at the end of games- when you look at that Laker Roster- the choice is obvious who should have the ball in his hands.

i'm going to guess he'll average a tad over 30.

I think he will average anywhere from 25-32. In the first half of last season, they were 14 games above 50%, until 4 people got injured, and Kobe had to take 30 shots a game. When they were 27-13, Kobe averaged about 22 points a game and 8 assists, or something like that. If the rest of the team can stay consistent, Phil Jackson might just try that Kobe-the-facilitator strategy again and produce more reliable results.

I think if they play the way they did in the first half of last season all season long, they can win 55 games and get into the 2nd round. Kobe MIGHT get the MVP...

With his trade demands not met? I believe he'll average:

40 ppg, 0.0 apg, 0.0 rpg 2.5 spg and 0.75 bpg.

Why? Simply because he will keep the ball to himself to force the Lakers management to make a trade for him. And with the team losing the Jerry Buss would pull of his wig and bade Kobe goodbye.

It's Jerry Buss' and the management's fault that this Laker team aren't moving forward because they have stopped spending and just waited for their "projects" (Kwame Brown and Bynum) to come through for them. If I was Kobe I'd do the same (jumping off the sinking ship) beacause the Lakers are self-destructing already.

Twenty-seven to Thirty...

Does it matter? You know the man is going to do the damn thing on the court and handle his business. Kobe will never be a slouch; he doesn't have it in him to be.
