Tennessee in 1998. LSU won the BCS title in 2003, but the AP voted for USC (besides, the Tigers were not undefeated).
Auburn was undefeated in 2004, but finished second in both polls to USC.

First of all, LSU did NOT go undefeated in '03-'04 season. They lost a game. Alabama won the AP National Title in '92 going 13-0. Tennesse was the last SEC team to win the BCS championship game while going undefeated. (13-0, beat Florida State)

Actually, the BCS was created in 1999 or 2001, I forget which one. Prior to that, it was all AP. Whoever was the highest ranked at the end of each year was the national champion.

The AP is not the National Championship - the BCS is! The AP is just a bunch of drunken big-city sports writers who vote for big city teams like USC.

I don't think it was Florida last year, cause the AP didn't do a Top 25 poll last year.
