I recently had a friend who claims that he can install a rear turbo charger on my 2005 3.5 Nissan Altima. Has anyone heard of one or had any experiences with this product?

STS makes twin rear turbos for Corvettes.
So it isnt unheard of. You will lose 1lb of boost because the turbos are located in the rear, but the turbos run 100 degrees cooler which makes for more efficient boost.

It is a rear mount turbo kit. There is one company who makes them, but I don't remember who. They work, I haven't heard much whether its better or worse. I have seen a 800 hp BMW with twin rear mount turbos though. In theory, it would work very well. Aside from the large amount of piping necessary, it removes the turbo from the engine compartment, relieving a large amount of heat...plus gives you more room. So yes, he is correct, it can be done. Probably more hassle than its worth on your specific vehicle, but it can be done.

Try this company. They were one of the first to offer this rear mount systemm for many vehicles.
