a teacher of mine asked this question and cannot find the answer anywhere library internet etc... from hints i know it is 10 letters long and starts with an "A" Please help me!!!

Anatolia is an old name for turkey in the time of troy but beardo is correct on the greek translation
It is technically not a peninsula it is the outer southern edge of a harbor thats why it sticks out
