they gave 20 million dollars to the DNC in 2004. As one of their spokesman said " we bought the Democratic Party, its ours and we are taking it back."

john_mcd_77 is correct. It might help to think of Moveon.org as the left wing's version of the old right wing Moral Majority. Both have engaged in slick, emotion-baiting rhetoric and some phenomenol truth-twisting. Both have succeeded in comandeering the issues and setting the agendas not merely within the parties they tageted, but on the national scene as well. They have both shrewdly exploited the demonstrable fact that the more you get people emotionally whipped up, the more money pours into the coffers. Moveon.org is hoping to be as successful in its takeover of the Democratic party as the Moral Majority was in dominating the Republican party.

It's more like the Democrats are affiliated with George Soros. Both the Democrats and moveon.org get money from George Soros, as well as Air America, Media Matters, and several other liberal causes (The democrat party being the largest).

It is no more part of the Democratic Pary as the Swift Boats are for the GOP. These groups tend to be fringe groups that like to affiliate themselves to the respective parties but are not actually sanctioned by either party... they are too controversial. I liken both of those movements to the brownshirts in Nazi Germany, they work in the shadows of the parties and they both bully and lie to push their agendas.

Moveon is a privately funded corporation that's using grass-roots support and tons of money in an attempt to do nothing short of taking over the Democratic party.

they're not officially linked but the democratic party does take money from moveon.
so it's more of an interest group than anything else.

Moveon works all the strings attached to the democratic candiates. Before any of them open their mouth, they check with G. Soros first.
