I am a 32 yr old woman and my husband is 41.. We have 3 children.
I love to get on the net and do stuff like this or maybe just play games. Well , my husband HATES IT!!! He is so jealous of me on the computer it causes fights.
Please, dont tell me to teach him the computer. I have tried. He has no interest in it. In his mind being on the computer is nothing but a BIG PORN PARTY....
He is a redneck dummy.
I am so fed up with his bitching.
Anyone else have this problem or have a solution for it?

He is very insecure sweetheart...anything that takes time away from him has to be bad...selfish of him.

From the tone of your question, it sounds like there are more problems present and the computer is being the bad guy here instead of the "real" problem. It is much easier to fight about a computer than to look at the whole picture.

I was where you are once...I know you are getting a thumping from some answers but unless you have walked in those shoes...well, they hurt!!! Good luck in dealing with him...to get along with him, you are going to have to give up plenty of things you enjoy because...well, he doesn't like it!!! I feel your pain sweetheart...

Yes, I'm overly attached to my computer. Often I am working, even though I'm at home, or I'm just shopping or goofing off with Yahoo Answers, or other mindless stuff (with my job I need some mindless distractions). I used to be in the computer room with the desktop and finally switched to a laptop a few years ago. Now at least I'm in the same room as he is, he's usually watching TV. When he wants attention I have to put the computer away. The lap top helped for sure.

Are you on the computer to the point that you are neglecting him? Maybe he feels like you want to be on the computer as opposed to being with him.....But if you are balancing your free time with your family and him....then he should respect that you want a little down time to yourself. A BIG PORN PARTY???? LOL Now that is a redneck talking!

How would you feel if he was spending all his time on the couch watching TV or playing video games?

If it's causing fights in your marriage, and yet you're still choosing the computer over your husband, I think you have bigger marital problems to deal with than just the computer...

Maybe try being on the computer when he's not home...or when he's busy doing things that he likes. Unless you're neglecting the family it is a little ridiculous for him to get mad about it...just try compromising a little. It would suck to let a computer ruin a marriage

Short of him getting on and do what you do..he is a helpless cause....from all the tv he watches he probably sees all those shows that have online affairs exposed and he thinks you are doing the same thing.
Of course..you know if he ever did he would be stuck on porn and chatting with Becca over there.

If you're spending more time with your computer than with your husband he has all the rights to be jealous.
