What did you all think of Britneys "come back" performance at the MTV VMA's? She was obviously lip syncing, but she also looked dazed and confused. She didn't seem to know what was going on and it was a fairly half arsed effort. Her dance moves were very simplistic unlike her dancing in the old days. Do you think she was on something?

"She was obviously lip syncing,"

Most of her "live" performances are done that way. She was probably watching the dancing bears.

It's hard for me to answer this, seeing how I watched it AFTER all the horrible reviews, so I went in with that. I think that if I would have watched it the first time, live, I wouldn't have thought it was HORRIBLE, but it isn't her best. She did seem really lazy in it, just going through the motions. But I do have something to say about her figure. No, she doesn't have the athletic, ripped figure she did a few years ago, but she isn't FAT! I mean, come on! People are acting as though she is HUGE. People seriously need to get a grip. Yes, she is a celebrity and her body image is part of her job, but give her a break! She IS NOT FAT! GEEZ! GO EAT SOME CHEETOS!

I don't know if she was on something but it was like a slow train wreck. It was horrible. She didn't even try! We all know she lip-synchs but to just give up on that half-way through the performance! She didn't dance, she just walked. She's suppose to be a performer and she didn't do her job. She should really just retire. She has enough money to live comfortably with her kids.

I didn't even watch the VMA's...I just saw the horrible clip on-line. VMA's have sucked for years though, so I guess it's really nothing new.

Well she has been through alot, i mean its okay if people dont like her, but all the criticism and everyone always judging her, its alot of pressure. Im not necessarily a fan of her's, but thats no reason for me to be a hypocrite. her performance rate was low and disappointing because she didnt want to be there, and she was obviously not ready, MTV might have known that and got what they wanted by making her perform anyway. Its sad actually, but i guess maybe Britney needs to get a clue and realize that her performing days might never be like before.

She wasn't on something although I heard someone on the forums say she had herpes =S. No she just was not enthusiastic. It was a dissapointing performance. Although, this was hyped a lot more than it needed to. A few years ago, britney performing was no big deal. She was lip-singing, horrible face expressions, half hearted dance moves, no enthusiasm.

and worst of all, WHY WOULD YOU WEAR THAT IF YOU'RE NOT TONED?

Seriously, I dont have a problem with big girls (queen latifah) but u gotta understand that something like that just isnt rite.

I personally do not care for Britney Spears (haven't since the whole Justin Timberlake thing), but to have two young children back to back, I think her body looks good - could have chose a better outfit, but the girl is NOT fat! Her lifestyle is catching up with her. I do agree that the performance was bad, even for her, but I also agree that Sarah lacks class for picking on her kids. That's just wrong.

It was horrible to watch. People are trying to blame everyone else for her doing bad; Sarah Silverman, having two kids, etc. But everything she has gone through, was of her own doing. No one forced her to have kids, shave her head, have a drinking problem, choose the wrong man. She definitely should have worn a different outfit and at least tried to act like she was excited to be there. She looked like she didn't even care.
My problem is why did they open the show with her? They should have opened with Chris Brown, his performance was off the hook! Lots of energy and he wanted to be there.

Poor birtney. I dont' feel bad for her screwing up her own performance (btw I'm a huge britney fan) I feel bad for her about the "Comedian" Sarah attacking her kids the way she did. If you want to talk about a real trainwreck, that woman has no class and is crass and rude.

On behalf of Brit's performance, her past performances were 1000000 times better of course. But, really, I've seen worse performances on MTV. The fact is, she wasn't ready to come back, she didn't want to be there. She can make up all the excuses she wants, she needs to admit to herself that this isn't necessarily what she wants in life.

As far as her being fat, let's really think about this... She's no bigger than beyonce and Beyonce has worn outfits far worse than brit. The difference is, Beyonce is comfortable in her skin.

I was so let down by this girls performance I had to switch the channel for a moment. Actually I cant believe that timberlin let her do that lack luster performance at the beginning of the show, cause it was like if this is the beginning of the show why would I want to see the rest. I cant ever defend Brittany after this.

She definitely wasn't as good as she used to be but she's also been through a lot in the past 2 yrs. Cut the girl some slack. I saw the performance, and while it wasn't great or even good, it was the worst thing I've ever seen either.
