Marc Savard? I think he is, possibly Patrice Bergeron.

I'd agree Marc Savard for sure. People know he's good after the last couple seasons, but he still isn't considered one of the top players in the game as he should be. People said his numbers in Atlanta were only a fluke and simply due to playing between Kovalchuk and Hossa. Last year, he basically had the same numbers on a garbage team.

That being said, I hate Savard. I can tell you from first hand experience that he's a goof. I bartended at a golf course where he had a membership. Not gonna go into detail about some of the crap he pulled at the course, but it was pretty bad.

I would say John Madden of the Devils. The guy is great at faceoffs and goes against the best center (top line) every game. His line is singlehandedly responsible for the Devils success. That and the fact that they have Brodeur between the pipes.

The guy is also a great shooter, but the Devils don't really let him play to that role.

If you consider the fact that the Devils consistently rank at the top in terms of least goals allowed, close to the bottom in goals scored and seemingly always make it to the playoffs, you realize just how good this guy is.

Still though, since he's not allowed to score he gets no credit...

Marc Savard, and before him Ron Francis.

Yea, it's definitely Savard. He consistently gets a ton of points, but no acknowledgment.

i might do away with Matt Stafford and Mike Bell from the record. particularly Stafford. i'm uncertain how the #a million universal %. interior the draft could be seen "underrated". i might pass with offensive lineman and indoors protecting lineman. those gamers in no way get adequate credit for conserving their QB or struggling with the run, that's "underrated".

Max Talbot. He's got the grit to hit and score. But cause the Pens got Sid and the young guns....he goes unnoticed.
