So they can be altered. Better to be too long than too short. The most important part of the jean is around the hips and butt. The rest you can work with.

I don't know...but all my jeans are like the prefect length for me because most of my jeans are true religion...but it depends on what brand you get though. Some brands have short, regular, or long.

A few brands will offer petite/short, regular, long/tall -- but not enough. Weird how they seem to think all women have the same length of legs, isn't it?

most do come in lengths like long, short and regular and some even have then inches like mens do

They do ! petite is short in length ! Regular is for reg. size length. and then there is Long length ! Thats all i see on woemn pants, your either, short,long, or regular!!

That's why I buy men's jeans. (That, and Levi's discontinued my style in the women's sizes.)
