Well, 3/4 of 48 is written like this on paper:

3(48)
4

So you could either:

A) Multiply 48*3, getting 144, and since 4 is in the (D)enominator, you the (D)ivide 144 by 4, which gets you 36

B) You could also start out by dividing 48 by 4, then multiplying by 3. Basically backwards of what you just did.

C) Use a calculator - My favourite :)

Can I have best answer please?

48 is 4 chunks of 12. So 3 chunks of 12 is 36.
Alternatively you could multiply 48 by 3 and then divide by 4. Then you'll have 144/4 which is 36.

Well simply multiply! 3/4 of 48 is equal to 3*48/4=3*12=36.
In any type of problem where you want to know what "y" part of "x" just multiply y*x... It's like deling with the double of a number, which is 2 times the number.

3/4 of 48 is the same thing as
3/4 times 48
3 * 48 = 144
144 / 4 = 36
36 is 3/4 of 48

check
36 / 3 = 12
12 + 12 + 12 + 12 = 48
12 + 12 + 12 = 36

3 out of 4

split 48 equally into 4 parts, you will get 4 sets of 12. now, you need 3 part of these 4 sets of 12, it will be 3*12=36
