First, put ice on the wax until it's cold and brittle. Then, break off what you can with your fingers or a toothpick. Then, tear up an old paper bag , put it over the wax stain and iron the heck out of it. The wax will transfer onto the paper bag. You may need to iron a few times before it comes off.

get cheesecloth and an iron, melt the wax onto the cloth, keep repeating until it is all off the purse, sure hope it wasn't a bright colored candle, it will probably stain the fabric if it was
