I recently moved to an apartment temporary. It's not bad for the time being, but the bathroom sink is awful. Oh, I've cleaned it thoroughly, but the problem is that it looks as if a smoker used it for an ashtray. It looks like cigarette burns around it.I've tried numerous products but no luck.Does anyone know how I can rid of all these marks? Could it be covered up with paint or something? Please help if you have any ideas. Thanks

If they are not too deep, you might try using a fine sandpaper over the marks. They are making a paint for plastics now in a spray can that might hold up for a while after you have most of the stain gone.( I'm assuming it is a plastic sink) If it is porcelain,I recently discovered that the thick toilet bowl cleaner will remove rust stains and the stains around the drain hole that builds up due to water standing.

With all due respect to any other answers it does NOT sound like a porcelain sink. Cultured Marble or Plastic would however show burn marks.

If it's cultured marble you might be able to get the stains off with Jewelers Rouge, but that might also degrade any finish you might want to recapture.

No offense at all but I'm always AMAZED about RENTORS NOT getting what they want before they ever spend the first dollar or sign the first line.

I assuming that you have a porcelain sink, probably white

whatever stains there are have apparently been etched into the porcelain

you might try a cleaner and let it soak for a while
maybe CLR (Calcium Lime Rust remover) ,check the directions

you might also try steel wool or a pumice stone in a small area to see if that has better luck

Try to lightly mist it with water, sprinkle some baking soda, let it sit for fifteen minutes and then scrub the hell of it. It should work, if it doesn't, get a spray paint.

try toothpaste and a scrubbing brush or washing powder, lemon juice might help bleach it
