Ok i need advice I was on the dr phil website today and noticed he was doing a show on complusive liars so I wrote in telling them my story and they contacted me back today amazingly and I dont know if I should do it now. Im a complusive liar Ive tried everything from admitted myself into a hospital to going to 3 different doctors once a week and this is my last resort. I dont want to be embrassed and I dont want people to throw stones at me instead of being supportive aka family and friends. Im doing this for marriage and my kids but I dont know if its the right way to go....

I guess if i was really bothered with a serious problem or issue enough, i would be willing to try whatever may work to overcome it...if youre serious enough about changing it...He may have insights or options that youve never tried...go for it..!!

i think you should go.
it sounds like you have tried many paths and if your doing this for your family you should definatly try everything.
people may judge and some people may throw stones they will always be out there, but if you can save your marriage and family then you should do it.
i tried getting onto a dr. phil show about a different topic and they never contacted me. be happy he even wants to help.

You should never turn away from any type of help.
And after a few shows, depending on the severity of your compulsive lying, people will forget and be absorbed by the new show topic.

I for one would never go on the Dr Phil show. You are bound to be embarrassed and held to ridicule in front of millions of international TV watchers.

But..................if you are serious about giving up a bad habit he just might be able to help.

Maybe it is worth the risk.

Why don't you accept and see what happens? They may pay for your trip, interview you in the office, and decide you don't have "personality" or "likeability" for the show but still offer something in the way of assistance. What can it hurt?

If you don't want to be embarassed at one point and/or bombarded with stones by angry villagers, avoid all talk shows period (although, if you really wanted to, this may be your one big chance to get on t.v.)
