I heard a Repubican say that Bush's plan was to invade Iraq to set up a base to invade Iran (which is silly if you know anything about modern warfare, much less the fact that we are already in Afghanistan, which borders Iran too) but ignoring all that even...

simply put... America doesn't want another war waged by the same administration...

they are afraid of another failed nation building exercise... by an adminstration that's proven its self to be incompetent...

even if Iran is a viable threat... have Bush's numerous blunders lost him all the credibility that he would have to have to wage another war?

this could be a big issue in the election... and Republicans better watch out if they want to push action on Iran...

and I don't think they would accept a war even from a new Republican administration... just based on the track record of the party...

assuming things stay as they are now...

You're rhetoric is full of the usual left-wing adjectives which demonstrates your self-righteous perceived intellectual elitist mentality. Calling the plan to liberate the Iraqi people from a murderous dictator "silly". Bush's numerous blunders should never have happened, because the war should have commenced in 1998 when Hussein ejected all weapons inspectors from Iraq. What was Bill Clinton's response? Absolutely nothing. Clinton got us into this mess with his 1960's flower-power pacifism.

I didn't read your entire question. But, I'd like to respond to your choice of words: failures in Iraq.
There have been a lot of failures in Iraq. But, that doesn't mean there can be no success. How many test do people fail while going to school and still manage to graduate?
There's an old adage I remember well;

The road to success is littered with failure.

To succeed, you must first fail. Just ask the Wright brothers, Edison, Bell or anyone else who succeded.

I think Bush has something up his sleeve to attack Iran. He doesn't think he made a mistake and he doesnt' think that America has lost the hearts and minds of Iraqies. I don't know what planet he lives on. But, If you listened to Petraeus today, it sounded like he's blaming all the attacks and violence in Iraq today on Iran and Syria. It's all a bunch of crap to try to justify (through lies again) an attack on Iran.

Good luck with that.

Actually, my theory is that President Hillary Clinton will invade Iran. That way, nobody will complain, because the Republicans will have been begging for it, and the Democrats will have voted her in. Don't believe me? Just watch it happen.

I think in Bush's original wet dream he saw himself sweeping through Iraq and then Iran with hardly any delay.

He was too busy being the official deciderator that he only listened to those "yes" men who were telling him what he wanted to hear, and let's face it he's not exactly sharp so I'm sure any well reasoned, but detailed opinions were over his head.
