He'd have been dragged out of the White House by his own secret service and executed publicly on the lawn at 1500 Pensylvania. Are you nuts? How could any President stand idle after 3000 Americans were slaughtered for their Nationality. Face it, the deed was done and the cowards who did it died also. Except for the leaders of the foul stain on humanity they represented. You listen to the wrong people or you don't listen at all. Something had to be done and had to be done quick and it had to show the world we don't take that kind of crap! Do you think for one second that if the attack of 9/11 happened on Bill Clintons watch the results would have been different? He would have struck hard and decicively and in the wrong direction the same as Bush. There's nothing to do in those situations because those situations never happened before! Bush crushed the Taliban and that was the only way to get close to O'sausage Bin-Killin. The Iraq adventure might not have helped us much but it got Sadam and his miserable killer kids the **** dead. The world is better now. Certainly, many American young men have died. Not anywhere near how many of Iraqi young men, women, and children died for the sake of the pleasure of a vicious dictator and his bloodthirsty pervert kids. Yes, I think the war is wrong, but not for the reasons you do.

I was pregnant and I had just brought my kid to preschool and had gone to the store. On the ride home, there was screaming on the radio. Well, it was on a station that is known for being silly and broadcasting all kinds of crazy stuff. I got home around 9am (10 am there) and turned on the tv. I just watched with my mouth wide open the whole time. I called up at the school where my kid was and they said that they are not allowing any checkouts, that all kids have to stay in the building. So, I worried all day about her. When I picked her up, I still hadn't done anything at home. We went straight home and watched the news the whole time. It was just weird.

At a vocational placement seminar for an employment agency I was working with at the time. I had just walked out the door and by chance met an old friend outside. I was talking to her when another person who had attended the seminar recieved a news bulletin on his beeper or cell phone or whatever that thing was. I then drove fifteen miles through heavy traffic to get home. I drove so fast, I made it home in less than 30 minutes. I walked in the door in time to see the second plane hit. I stayed home the rest of the day.

I was at home getting ready for an appointment.
My husband's wasn't feeling well and had stayed home from work. He was laying on the couch watching TV. He called to me when the first plane hit. We watched the rest happen as it occurred.
My first thought was of my brother because he lives in NYC.
I couldn't reach him by phone so I called my Mom. He had already called her to let her know he was OK.
When the plane hit Pentagon, I was so scared because my brother-in-law is a Naval Officer and at the time was stationed at the Pentagon. I heard from him that evening and he was OK but it was a long day waiting and worrying about him.
When I talked to my brother that evening, he was shell-shocked. He said he took a taxi home from work and as it got closer to his apartment he could see the "dust". None of his roommates came home that night so he was worried but eventually learned all were ok.
I didn't immediately think anything could happen where I live but later realized terrorism can occur anywhere. My family made an emergency plan.

I was in sixth grade in geography class and we were taking a test. We handed in our tests unfinished and watched TV News for the rest of the class period. we saw the first tower fall. when we moved to the next period, we had to take a algebra quiz (the teacher wouldn't postpone it). by the time everyone had finished and the teacher turned on the TV, the second tower had already collapsed.
I dont remember hearing about the Shanksville or the Pentagon crashes until later that night and in the next couple of days

I was in Middle school. I went the whole day in school not knowing, the teachers didn't say anything about it. I think they were trying to convince parents to not send their kids home early (My cousin's school announced it in a assembly and kids ran out screaming, especially ones with parents there) because there was no sign of anything wrong. I took the bus home and when we started moving the driver told us to tell our parents we love them. We had no idea why he said that. I noticed when I got off the bus alot of parents were picking up their kids but my mom wasn't there so I walked home. When I got home I turned on the TV and there it was the plane hitting the towers, the collapse. It all already happened but it was new to me. My mom came home shortly (stuck in traffic) crying and spent alot of time trying to contact anyone we knew who worked near the towers (all were ok). It was a scary day and I live in a suburb 40 min from NYC.

I was also in the 5th grade. I had just come home from school (news travels slow in my town) and was eating a Strawberry Shortcake popsicle, and my parents were freaking out in the living room and I didn't understand why. I thought that some building was demolished, but I didn't understand what a terrorist attack was until a few years later.

for 10 points:
I got on the phone quickly because my nephew worked at the first tower a floor above where the plane had hit!
He had gone downstairs to pick up coffee for him and his friend at work. Fortunately he made it out but lost his friend.
My nephew is back in England with his wife and a newly born daughter.

I was at work. I live and work in Canada, but yet while I was working, my co-workers kept asking me why was I humming the Star Spangled Banner. I never thought anything of it. We took our break, and found out what happened. We were all in a daze after that, so much so that it took me another 2 hours to realize that my sister lived just two blocks from the towers. I tried to phone everyone I knew to find out anything about her (if she was ok). I finally heard she was fine, but in shock and total disarray. After work I couldn't go home. I went to the bar and just drank till I couldn't feel anything anymore. When I walked home, my house was full of friends watching the news and waiting to hear more.
