Ha i have the same prob but im 16!
Yea well i have heaps of methods for this..but i go to sleep at like 3 am anyways ha. First of all i'll tell ya why this happens....
In ur brain there is this thing called the circaidian clock..( i think i spelt it right)
and that tells u when ur sleepy...anyway that always changes and adjusts..like an alarm clock...if u constantly go to sleep at 12am then ur circaidian clock will be like...ok this is my new sleeping time...and u'll only feel sleepy at that time...to fix this you need to go to sleep earlier..
Ok now my methods:
I pray...im a catholic but not hard out so yea...it sounds stupid and boring but it makes me feel beter and i can go to sleep...just pray about stuff like thanking god 4 ur day and stuff..
Exercise...i run everyday and that gets me a bit tired i guess...but u need ta push urself..
Avoid drinks and t.v
Long baths
Yea thats about it for me...my best seems to be the exercising method kuz it gets me sleepy and then i go to bed at like 11pm then my circaidian clock is like hey! this is my new bedtime! yea...
hope i helped
dont take the sleeping pills tho plzz....really dont..it can hurt you

If you can't sleep, you might want to take a look at how much caffiene you take in all day. If you drink a lot of soda or tea or coffee, ect. you are taking in too much caffiene and we all know what caffiene does to us. If you don't exersise regularly, you may want to start. Drinking more water may also help. Water flushes your system and may drain away toxins in your body that are contributing to your insomnia. You are 13, be conscience of how much sleep you are getting. If you are not getting enough sleep and as a result, chugging some type of caffiene stimulant, than you should change your sleeping patterns and budget enough time to sleep at least 8 hours a night. Try taking a warm bath before bed instead of a shower. If you soak in a tub of warm water, you will have a chance to relax your muscles and your mind so you can drift right off to sleep right afterward. At your age, getting into good excersise, eating, and sleeping habits now, will give you a better chance at being a healthy adult. Do it now so it won't be so hard to change once you are grown and set in your ways. I have a 14 year old son, and I tell him the same thing.

im 13 and i sometimes have trouble sleeping. someone said it was something i ate or drank. thats weird but it doesnt always happen to me, only like once or twice a month.....
the way you can go to sleep is just to stay comfortable in bed and dream or daydream/think of a story or you're in a fantasy with your eyes closed. soon you will be drifting off to a REAL DREAM and you have your sleep. i now do that everynight and it always actually works! no lie it does! if this doesnt work then i think you should try ask a profesional or do what other advice these other people give you. i just give you the advice that relates to me and helps that possibly can help you. Good luck sleeping tonight i hope you do sleep.
=)

Don't take sleeping pills for heaven's sake. You are too young to get started on that junk. First try the usual: Nothing with caffeine in it after noon. No exciting TV, or video games right before bed, nothing to get your heart beat up. And the milk is a good idea!

This might sound stupid but it works for me. I do math. In my case, I add what I have for income. Then I add what I have for bills. Then I try to figure out the difference. I never get the answer because it's too hard when I am sleepy. In order for you to do this I guess you would have to do something different. Maybe count the kids in your math class, then those in your language class and figure out the difference. A nice warm bath works well, too. Is your room cool/warm enough? Maybe buy yourself a new pillow or soft blanket to cuddle with. Have you talked to your parents? To your doctor? They know you so well they might be able to help you. Try that. Sweet dreams!

You can take 50- 150 mg. of 5 HTP (found in the vitamin section under sleep aids). This is basically to increase tryptophan levels ( found in turkey) that helps you fall asleep.
theanine is also an anti-stress supplement that promotes restful sleep. My son is a little low on tryptophan levels and takes 5 HTP with no side effects. He wakes up happy, not grouchy. It used to take him about 45 mins. to fall asleep. He falls asleep a whole lot easier, and he can actually skip a dose and still falls asleep faster.

Always get up early in the morning.
When you go to bed concentrate on each area of your body one at a time. Think about relaxing that area and you will be surprised how tense your muscles are when you make them relax. This works for me every time.
Also, if you are worried about doing stuff that should have been done, get right up and do it, then you can't worry any more.

stay away from the computer for at least two hours before bed. The excitation to the mind keeps it racing for hours after you turn it off.
