I was hit by a locomotive in 1990 at 70 MPH, in my car, with my huband driving! My husband had a bump on his head. My son (18 yrs) had just graduted from the Marine corps in South Carolina had a fractured jaw. My oldest daughter (7yrs) went out throught the back windshield and was found where the trunk used to be. My youngest daughter (4 yrs) had 280+ stiches in her face and was in surgery for more than 7 hours to have her face reconstructed. I lost the top of my right ear and had 50 stitches in the back on the right side of my head. there was no gate, nor a bell to warn us before the train hit us. Our Camero SS was hitthree times...the front ripped off, the side sucked in, and the back torn off to the back seat. If we had had our seatbelts on, we would NOT be here today!

Well, I know this doesn't top yours (glad everyone recovered, though)....when I was 17, I drove head on at 60 mph into a phone pole. I lost control of the car because I hit a curve and lost control plus the street was wet which didn't help. I went off teh road into a ditch and side swiped a tree. Anyway, I knew I was going to hit the pole and in the few seconds before I hit, I saw my life flash before my eyes. It's hard to explain, but it was a very odd feeling because I thought I was about to be killed.

My daughter was thrown from a car when it rolled. She was found about 40 feet away unconscious in the ditch.
She had flown out of her knee high boots & pants. When her boyfriend got out of the car, he said it looked like she had taken her boots off & left them right outside the car door.
Since the accident happened at 5 a.m. it was dark, and it was on a country highway, he couldn't find her or her friend. The car was upside down facing away.
She had a severe skull fracture, TBI, broken neck in 2 places, broken pelvis in 2 places. Broken & separated ribs, torn spleen, nicked aorta, knee injury, nerve damage in her arm, deafness in one ear, slice above her eye, severe roadrash.
Her girlfriend was found only afew feet away from the car. Her injuries were more severe, but they both survived. My daughter is about 90%, but the other girl has alot of problems.

I know it defiantly doesn't top yours, but two years ago my brother was driving and lost control of his car, crashing into another one and flipping. His best friend died beside him on impact, and he wakes up every night screaming from nightmares.
