I want to major in something like Computer Science (or something of that sort) and want to stay in California. What school(s) would be a good one to look at? I have heard that UCLA and UC Berekley are good schools with technology. Are there any other CSU or UC schools that are very good in their technology education?

Only listing public schools because I take it that's all you want:

Berkeley is the best public university when it comes to computer science in California. I believe UCLA also ranks high.
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (a Cal State) also has a really good reputation.
UC Santa Cruz seems to have an interesting program. I know a lot of students there like the more laid back atmosphere of the school.

The best schools are Berkeley, Stanford, Cal Tech and UCLA. The other UC schools are all excellent. CSU schools are not very selective or very good -- except for the Cal Poly shcools. If you can't get into a UC school, that would be your best alternative.

Caltech (California Institute of Technology). It's supposed to be one of the best science/engineering schools in the country, but I have my doubts (as it's just right next to me and I never considered it a big school).
