Yell at them a lot, degrade them, make them feel worthless, and have them do strenuous/repetitive tasks... kinda like they do in boot camps. Scare them with Freddy Kruger and stuff. Then whisper in their ear when they're sleeping; things like "make brownies for Giggle Bear, but no walnuts because we're short on money", or "buy Giggle Bear new shoes." Whatever you want.
