Wink at the husband and get him to bed. As much as you probably won't feel like doing this, but the chemicals in sperm will get things moving along. Guaranteed.

if you are having contractions, cramping and back pain it's not long now trust me!!

Get hubby into bed tonight and in the morning and then wait 24hrs to see what happens.
I have had an induction and a natural and the natural wins hands down. Induction is full on pain from the minute your are induced and is really hard to cope with, a lot of people then get epidurals that can prolong the labour and have all sorts of risks. Natural is usually a gradual pain that lets your body adjust to each stage and is much easier to handle overall.

Think very carefully about asking the doctor, he may not even do it and for good reason (he knows inductions aren't the best answer all the time too)

Hang in there, go for some gentle walks, have sex, rest, relax and your baby is going to come when she sends the signals to your body that she is ready!

Best of luck and I have my fingers crossed that your labour starts soon.

Call your doctor or on call staff now if you haven't mentioned the weekend of cramping and back pain to them yet just to be sure all is well. If you've already have mentioned the cramping, then call them first thing in the morning. A lot of doctors get antsy too when a baby gets a week overdue. Anyway, good luck, and make sure your bags are packed. It sounds like your baby will be here very soon.

I am really surprised by some of the answers here.
There is 2 ladies saying that they were overdue by 4 weeks???
This is the first time I hear something like that..
No medical staff or midwife would allow a pregnant lady to go over 4 weeks.
They have to induce you by the 42nd weeks at the very very latest well at list here in the UK.

If you are in the UK, your midwife should have given a induction date by your 42nd week. Call her !!!

I had my son a month late. That was hard. When my water did break, they had to induce me because I wasn't contracting. Your doctor might help you out, but usually only if the baby is in distress or your having a medical problem like high blood pressure. Be patient. Your baby will come when he or she is ready. Get rest now, because soon you will be wishing to be pregnant again and able to rest. My doctor stripped my membranes to help induce labor with my daugther cause of high blood pressure, otherwise, he would have let my go as long as my daugther wanted to stay in her first home. Enjoy your baby.

Call your Doctor right away because something might be wrong! MY sister in law had the same problem the water went into the baby's lungs and cause some damaged! Baby had to spend 3 months in the hospital! Good luck!

I was FOUR WHOLE WEEKS OVERDUE!! Totally know how you feel, I had to BEG my midwife to let me go that long because I really wanted a natural birth, she never came on her own ( I had lots of sex, walked every day, ate spicy food, took castor oil...nothing works) and I ended up being induced at 44 weeks, hang in there!

according to any Doctor..no one can be late..you made the mistake counting the wrong day from the beginning. By the way as it natural for women to have children..stop moaning and get on with it...it will be here soon enough..

Why don't you just go to the emergency room--they can tell or do something much quicker and your OB will be informed that you're there.
