Im not aware of any 'ionized' range vents...

The way an air cleaner that uses ionization works, it changes the electrical charge of the air particles as it passes thru the machine... these charged particles then stick to the nearest surface with an opposite charge... usually a wall, floor, or counter... leaving a black residue building up over time. This would NOT be a safe method in a kitchen, Im thinking. Because along with those air particles, youre also going to have grease. Grease buildup in the wrong place can not only be a mess to clean up, it could potentially be a fire hazard.

Most kitchen exhaust fans work by venting the cooking fumes outside, and/or running them thru filters. Most range hoods have a grease filter, under the hood... the better quality hoods also have a charcoal filter, to eliminate odors. The charcoal filter will be located behind the grease filter.

Good Luck
