Everytime I see something to do something or hear something, it triggers something bad that happened to me in the past(like a long time ago or recently)?

How do I stop this?

You are letting the past control you. Let it go. It's time. You'll be much happier if you do.

Try filling your days with new things that don't remind you of bad events from the past.

The reason you're experiencing this is because you have learned to associate a stimulus with a response, also known as Classical Conditioning. Pavlov studied this phenomenon, and its implications explain your situation. When you see the stimulus (seeing something), it triggers the response of a memory, because in some way you have associated the two. In order to stop this, you need to associate whatever you see or hear with something else, something positive. That will help you avoid linking it to past, negative things.

It's your subconscious at work, reminding you of things you'd just as soon forget. But when you have these trigger events, recall comes looming right at you. Just try to replace the bad memories with good ones. Your conscious mind is stronger and more controllable than your subconscious.
