Nope. I think it's a lovely idea.
However-
My partner is named James after his father, and he swears he would never do it to his child! Too much confusion..

I think Jamie is fine, especially is you pair with a either a super feminine or super masculine name, because that would help erase confusion over the gender (on school rosters and when you tell people about your child). If you named a boy Jamie Scott, Jamie Michael, or Jamie Alexander, it should be obvious that you have a little boy. Jamie Allison, Jamie Marie, or Jamie Alexis would obviously be girls names. If you pair Jamie with a unisex name, people will have a hard time figuring out the sex of the child. Like, Jamie Payton or Jamie Tristian. Even something like jamie Hayden could get confusing, because of how it's becoming more of a unisex name. My name is Kelly Michael and I used to get confused for a boy all the time (ok the short curls and overalls didn't help!)
I hope my input is somewhat helpful!!! Good luck with your baby!!!

Jaime can be either a boys name or a girls name, i dont think it would be crazy. I think you should pick a name you and your husband like, and not worry about what other people think.

No....but I would suggest different spellings. Like for a girl Jamie and for a boy Jaime.

I definitely have no issues with the name, it's all fine and dandy. BUT, I'm going to warn you about a problem my husband has been having since he has the same name as his Dad (both Carlos). They credits are completely mixed up and entwined. We have been working on it for almost 3 years trying to get all loans, bank accounts, and such properly sorted out. It's not that his dad has bad credit or anything, but it's just not good to have an inaccurate credit report. Also, my sister in law's name is Flavia (named after her dad Flavio) and they had the same problem for years too.
Just my little warning. Good luck either way:)

Kids are often named after a parent or relative. Please give the child a SECOND name that can be used to SEPERATE the two individuals later in life. I have many times found it difficult to have the same name as my father .They called my FATHER on the phone to tell him that his wife was in the emergency room ,but MOM was out shopping and MY wife had been in an accident.Jamie is a fine name.

that is perfectly ok
I personally think Jaime is such a great idea if it is a boy or girl. Especially this, that name must be extra special because that is ur husbands name.

No its not crazy and its a nice unisex name. But I do think a child should get their own name/identity and not be a junior so you could use it as the middle name for either sex. We did this with our son. I'm just not fond of Jr's or people being directly named after a close relative.
best of luck

No, I would just use different spellings depending on the gender. For a boy, use Jaime like your husband. For a girl, try something more feminine like Jami or Jaymi.

I named our first child who happened to be a girl after my husband. I know plenty of boys named Jamie and a girl named Jaymee. I think it spelled differently makes it more feminine. But, I think you are not crazy at all and it is wonderful.

thats a great name, you don't even have to think twice, it's a boy and a girl name. I know someone who named their child Things so when they say how's things, the parents will say she's good, that is a wierd name. Plus you want to know if the baby's name will compliment his/her surname.
