i love it and where i am from it is not common at all i think that isabella grace flows beautifully.pick what you feel will be the best for your child and you.i like bella i dont like isy...so if you pick it i would use bella for short but you can tell people you dont want them to shorten it. i have elijah and everyone tried to call him eli and i hate that so i just made it clear to family and friends that that was not his name and they needed to get his name right.so do whatever makes you feel happy it is your child.Name her what you want.but i do like the name i think it is very beautiful and quite feminine.good luck!

I think Isabel is getting very popular, but Isabella is slightly less popular. Isabella Grace is very cute, but be careful of the nickname. I know of several small children who have some verson of Isabell (Isabella, Arabella, Anabell, ect..) who go by Bella. You could always call her something like Izzy or Izza, which I think are much less common but every bit as adorable.
I hope my input is useful, and good luck with the baby!!!

It is super popular. By the time she's school age it could be the next Kaitlyn/Caitlin/Kaylen/Caylynn or Jennifer.
So it's really up to you. Is your prime objective uniqueness or femininity?
I think Bella sounds nicest. And I know your pain on hating the nickname's but loving the name. I really liked Roxanne for a girl, but I will NOT stand for her being nicknamed Roxy (souds so superficially s l u tt y surfer girlish--- and I don't like the clothes brand either)
But hey, congrats anyways. As long as you like the name, and you feel it's for the right reasons.

According to Social Security, Isabella was ranked # 4 in baby girl names in 2006. The site goes back 15 years. Isabella keeps getting popular each year. It is being overused. Certain things may affect this. "Lana" was not even in the top 1000 in the 1990s. The year after Smallville, 2002, it has risen steadily each year. Lana was 412 last year, and rising. This is the wrong time for another Isabella. At the link, you can enter any name and see what rank it is.

Hey, It's a beautiful name. Who cares if it's popular right now? At least she will be able to buy things with her name on it!
: ) I don't like Isy as a nick name, but Bella is lovely. And I don't hear Bella quite as often as Isabella so maybe that's a way to get around it!

It is very popular - I don't like the term "overused" in that for each set of parents who choose that name they like it and that's what counts. Obviously names become popular because they are pretty! If you love the name, and are willing to have your daughter go by her first name plus last initial, then I say go for it. When I was a young girl, I wished my name was more popular like Jennifer or Kathy, because mine was a more "unique" name. That's why I don't buy the "holier than thou" attitude SOME people have with wanting "different" names for their babies and looking down on those who choose to go "mainstream".
It depends on your perspective and there are pro's and con's with either way (choosing a popular vs different baby name).
So if you love the name, I say go for it!
Oh, and I do think it is a very pretty name and so are its nicknames!

I think Isabella is nice. I don't think it is overused.
You could try variations or different spelling like
Isobella
Isabelle
Isobel
Isabel
I like the nicknames Izzy and Bella and Belle.
Very cute ;)

I know I'm going to get some thumbs down for this but persoanlly I hate that name. Isabella and Isabelle just really isn't my thing. It isn't as much as the fact that so many little girls have that name these days it's just that I think the name is sort of ugly. I mean, truthfuly, Isabella? What the hell is up wit that? Belle is pretti but the Isa just totally ruins it. And also Grace is being used tons nowadays to so you just can't win if you worried over the whole overused issue.
But you do what you want, she can fit in with the crowd if you do that, it's just that nothing will be special about her name.
Hope that helps!

My daughter's name is Isabella Monet, I love it!! I didn't know it was so popular when I decided to name her that (in 2004). I called her Izzy when I was pregnant with her, but as soon as she was born, I knew she was a Bella. I think both nicknames are pretty. Isabella Grace sounds nice together too. I think it's classy and timeless, and she would be lucky have such a name. :)
