They dropped from 3 to 4 mostly due to Oklahoma's performance. OU pounded Miami, who had beaten Marshall the week before, which I would honestly say that Marshall was looking ahead to who they view as their biggest rival, even though West Virginia doesn't look at it that way at all. The Mounties came out flat in the first half while Marshall was feeding off the crowd, but WVU came back and pounded the crap out of them in the second half.
Don't worry about polls this early. There's still a ton of football left.

OSU rose because Va Tech lost and fell behind them, not for beating Akron. OSU plays a few weak teams, then the Big Ten. West VA plays two decent teams this year and will lose both, and be in the low 20's by the end of the year.

BCC is wacked. They've always favored Big 10 and PAC 10 teams over SEC teams it seems. Alot of bias in my opinion, not matter how many "computer programs" and "Style points" are factored into the equation. USC and OSU were always favorites, but uhm, being a Florida fan for 25 years, I sit back and smilllllllle baby. "Hey! We're Michigan! Why don't we deserve a shot?!" Hahaha...0-2...anyhow, to address your question, they're a solid team in the Big East, however I don't think they deserve to be rated that high. There's just so many other teams that are better, but they're a hell of a team and def. deserve a Top 10 spot. Look forward to my Bulls home game

West Virginia got dropped in the polls because of the inability to pass the football. They can get away with it playing weak sisters, but when they play a quality opponent with any kind of D they are going to lose. Fill the box and stop the run, and force them to pass is the way to beat West Virginia, and it is obvious to anyone who knows anything about football at any level. Thats why they dropped in the polls, thats why they will lose more than one game, and thats why my Sooners are sitting in their previous spot, because OU can run or pass. your welcome.

West Virginia is very one dimentional, and they don't have a real good defense. If they ever played an Oklahoma or LSU - they would get crushed!
