I don't want my iPod to be reverted back to factory settings. I just want the songs on my iPod to be put onto my laptop.

I want to have the same tracks on my laptop as my desktop.

Can it be done?

No. It won't straight away delete them, but it won't put them in your library either.

You can do two things:

a) They sell this software that allows you to put songs from your iPod straight to your laptop.

b) You can burn your songs onto a cd, and import them into your library.

Hope this helps you. :)

Can it be done, yes, can it be done with your ipod, um no. It is apples policy to make you buy a copy of each song for each machine you want it on, if you want to transfer music you must locate the MP3 or wma file and use the ipod as an external storage drive or litterally use an external storage drive.

It will not automatically delete them; it will ask you first.

Also, sharing music can be done, if you select "manually update ipod" or something like that when the ipod is plugged in. Then click and drag files onto the ipod from itunes.

You can download software that will help you. Both iGadget & Anapod Manager will get the songs & playlists from your iPod & put them on your computer & into iTunes. There is a free software to get the songs off of your iPod called Sharepod that will help you, too.

confident, itunes will attempt and directly sync your ipod with the hot itunes library in spite of the incontrovertible fact which you will trun this off by ability of establishing itunes then going to: Edit > suggestions , then choose for the contraptions tab and verify the 'disable computerized syncing for iphones and ipods' :) Then google and get carry of a software reported as 'sharepod' (i take advantage of it myself works completely) Then choose for 'import to laptop' choose for a folder to import your song video clips podcasts etc. then enable it artwork this is magic :) desire this facilitates. :3
