because my room mate shaved my chest and stomach as a prank while i was sleeping (yes im a REALLY heavy sleeper) and im worried about it growing back coarse and hard like facial hair...please dont say nair or waxing cuz i really cant stand being without body hair and it hasnt even been a day yet!

The hair will seem coarser when it first grows back because all the hair is the same length and the tips are blunt and prickly. That's how the myth got going that cutting hair makes it coarser -- it does, but only temporarily. If you stay out of your roommate's clutches, the tips of the hair will wear down and get tapered again, just like it was before. This takes a few weeks.
This sounds more like a sadistic violation than a prank. Unless you've done something really bad to him that he's paying you back for, I would either try to get a new roommate or tell this one that if he pulls a stunt like that again, you'll have him arrested for assault. He has no right to do things like that to any other person, and he needs to get that message loud and clear -- now, before the semester is a day older!

I don't think your hair will grow back courser than it was. I've had stomach and chest hair shaved several times for medical tests, and it grew back just as it was.
It seems pretty unlikely that there is a way to grow the hair back faster than its normal pace. So, meantime, try to relax, and keep your shirt on....
