ok, this is what happened.
my old phone died all of a sudden (obviously had something to do with leaving it on the wet bathroom counter near the sink)
it was brought to the phone shop place
So I got a new temporary phone. It was obviously a used phone, cause the voice mail message thing said "hey you've reached rob, leave a message, something something". But there was a telemarketer on it.... it seems like they just call the same number over and over, right? doubt it, cause my same phone number was programed on it, and the telemarketer must've logged the phone IP address (if there's such thing) or something else, cause the idiots should of just called the same number, instead of keeping track of phone number changes and crap like nerds.
so when I got a new phone, they were still calling my phone number!!!
Should I keep yelling out insults and "Stop calling me!" when they call, or does ignoring them completely make them shut up after a while?

and also, the telemarketer talking are recordings. Answering the phone call is a recording of "hello, I'm a big moron, something something, call me at this number so that we can annoy you with some more recordings." the voice mail they leave is the same recording.
and calling the number is just "thank you for calling. something something, this is a recording. something something. something about entering in a 4 digit number or whatever".

so....... what do i do???!!!!!

Tell them that you would like the name of the company they represent so you can file a complaint with the BBB for harassment and report them to the FCC... this usually doe the trick for me..
Hope this helps

If it is a legite telemarketer and not some prankster....then when that person calls you tell them nicely to please stop calling and if they ever do call again you will report them to authroties because it is against the law for someone to constantly bug you (telemarketer) via a phone and if it's interfering your personal life. If they still dont stop, you can choose to report them, or simply change your number.

unclear what having a phone replaced has to do with getting a new phone number, however....

just register the number on the do not call list, and tell them that this number is registered, and please remove you from their list. companies that you do business with (utilities, credit cards, cell phone companies, etc) are allowed to call you, so you need ask them to opt out.

the law is clear, some break it and many are getting fined. no need to get mad, its computers and executives you will never speak with that make the policies. learn the law and report those who break it.

take note of who it is, if they don't obey your request you can report them on the fcc website.

Simple. Get a live person on the phone and say 8 words, "put me on your Do Not Call list."

this day and age you should have caller id and if you do and you see them dont' anser it let it be gone and ignore them its harder on yourself screaming and telling them stuff cause they don't pay attention. they are horrible and there is someting on computer to stop them i forget which place to stop them calling as much. its weird how they do this but they are just computers and doing stupid stuff over and over.
