I am a soldier in need of a new survival/combat knife and am looking at getting the Buck Strider ML or FB fixed blade. I cant decide between the two. The ML looks more functional but the tip looks weak because of the false blade on the tip. The FB should be stronger but the shape of the blade looks like it is more for looks than actually cutting, slicing or chopping. I cant seem to find any reviews on these knives but the reviews on Buck's other large fixed blade the "nighthawk" have been great all around. I am very confident with Buck Knives but dont want to dish out the cash and not be happy.
Does anyone have experience with these knives or own one? I am very curious about how the tip on the ML is shaped and how it holds up to abuse. I would also like to know how the cutting ability of the FB is with that weird blade shape. Thank you in advance for all your help.

the ML isn't bad, the tip is a little suspect, but it depends on
how abusive you're going to be. I collect knives and have found two new starting firms that you might want to look at,
also...JB Knives and BWS knives saw them at a show &
both , especially BWS, have trail knives.....functional, nasty
little buggers!
