This is a fun question...I am curious to see if there is a trend.

First off, I am 33 weeks pregnant and have started nesting. I am doing my student teaching internship for college as well and am quite busy doing homework for methods courses and am nesting in between working on assignments.

My question is: After you started nesting, how long was it before you went into labor?

Deborah...its funny you said two weeks, because I used to watch a little boy who said he knew I was having a girl at 13 weeks and he was right. Then he said she was going to be born on my birthday (September 25th) not my husband's (October 28th, when she's due). If I were to have her on the 25th, that would put me at 35 weeks and 2 days...2 weeks from now :)

Nesting is when you are getting everything clean and organized for the baby; preparing your "nest" for the baby to come home.

I have six children and started nesting with each of them at around 30 weeks to 36 weeks.

At 36 weeks I slowed down and it was a case of waiting until the day or so before labor when I would get another burst of energy. Many times during the last four weeks did I think I was going to go into labour as the braxton hicks got stronger. Labour started with my first baby with a show and then backache contractions, with each child afterwards it started as a backache that eventually joined the braxton hicks into full pain contractions. The backache (really bad and really low) was the best sign.

Its normal at about 7 months to start feeling the urge to prepare. Then in the last four weeks it is normal to slow down in the waiting phase.

Labour was normal around 40 weeks gestation, some a couple of weeks later.

Oh fun!

I had a scheduled C-section so I missed the whole labor thing entirely (and I am somewhat disappointed!).

But knowing the exact day and time of my baby's arrival I started nesting probably at 30/31 weeks.

And the funny thing was that my husband noticed it and I didn't believe him at first.
