Yes - how silly that people get all flustered about this very obvious if truthful pun - and yet they have excused and not even minded torture - torture to death - of innocents, mass murder - including of children, the destruction of Iraq's infrastructure, the flight of 2 million of their people.....
How utterly ridiculous.

What's unbelievable is that it was expected...there was no way anyone would make the democrats happy unless they were a lackey to them.
The democrats are afraid of good news....but if you really listened...this wasn't about good news or bad news..it was for an update and requirements by the person in charge there.
So sorry people like you only hear every other word.

Ask This? Who Commissioned the General. Answer; the Democrat controlled Congress as a Sworn and Trusted Independent. So why all the fuss when he brings a report that things are going better than expected. Maybe the Socialists are Worried about their Jobs. After all Doom & Gloom is their Motto!!!

His job is to report what is going on and how the troops are doing. I think people have already made their mind up on this war, so what he says is moot to them. From what I did hear, it sounded like a mixed bag of some success and some failures. It sounded like the military is doing what they are supposed to do. Unfortunately, it sounds like everyone else, from our politicians to the Iraqi politicians are not doing their jobs. I think we can all say that we can hope our soldiers come home safe and sound, regardless of the timetable.
It's always a rich mans battle and a poor mans fight.

If I were you, I wouldn't be
A) taking slogans and pitches from the same group that compared Bush to Hitler. They've already proven they have the maturity and reasoning of whiny five year olds, and if that's what Democrats have become in this country I'm sure FDR is rolling over in his grave.
B) insulting the honor and integrity of a man who eats, sleeps and breathes the defense of this country. That in itself makes me sick. Petraeus stated multiple times that his words are HIS OWN. What else do you want to do? Hook him up to a lie detector?!
Once you get four stars on your shoulder then you can feel free to question a "career expert" all you want, until then ... SHUT UP!

I don't think he's a lackey and I don't see what the big deal is. I think GWB has been a terrible president and I think we should leave Iraq but most of what the General said didn't seem entirely unreasonable to me.
We have to be careful about how we leave, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't leave.

As a soldier who has been to Iraq, all I can say is what do you want from the General, He came to Washington, gave the facts fresh from the field with eyes on, and you want to disrespect him because you, and guys like Moveon.org, or Daily Kos, or George Soros, lack courage and lack Military training and Knowledge, of what the real situation is!!!!! out there!!!!!The general has forgotten more about Military Tactics and Military Knowledge than all you guys put together, and because he didn't say what you wanted to hear your gonna be a bunch of Whiny little Anti-American hope our enemies win B!tches????????
