why is it summer in the usa and winter in argintina??

As the earth spins, the energy from the sun makes contact with our atmosphere. As we revolve around the sun counterclockwise, this causes the atmosphere to spin slightly, causing the weather patterns you and I see today.

During the southern hemisphere's summer, the sunlight is much greater near the bottom of the earth, due to how close the Earth is from the sun. This causes a slight vortex effect in weather, making more clouds travel northerly, or up, on the earth. As more and more clouds travel towards the north, they help block more and more sunlight. This causes the Northern Hemisphere to experience "Winter", while the Southern Hemisphere experiences "Summer".

While the Earth moves another 6 months around the sun, it begins to feel the energy of the sun on the opposite side of the spinning weather patterns it already has. This causes the vortex of weather to subside, causing what we know to be spring and fall. As the energy from the sun once again begins to contact the earth (this time because the northern hemisphere is closer), it spins the clouds in the opposite direction, sending them south, or down. This is much like the difference between the way water spins down a drain in the northern hemisphere and the southern hemisphere. This again causes what is known as "Summer" in the north, while the south's cloud cover causes "Winter".

This of course has nothing to do with the ecliptic plane and it's varying as the earth revolves around the sun due to a 23.5° tilt, which is a conspiracy of astronomers.

The seasons are caused due to two reasons.One is the tilt of the axis and the other is the revolution of the earth around the sun.In the earth's elliptical orbit around the sun, the nearest point to the sun is called perigee and the farthest point is called apogee.In the apogee position, the sun will be shining over the tropic of cancer.Due to the tilt of the axis, Northern hemisphere will only be now exposed to the sun .So this is summer time for Northern hemisphere and hence to USA.
At this time,due to the same reason(tilt of the axis), Southern hemisphere will be pointing away from the sun and most of the places will be getting less radiations only and this will be winter for Southern hemisphere.As the Argentina is in the Southern Hemisphere,this will be winter season for it.
At the perigee position,the sun will be shining over the tropic of capricon and the conditions will be reversed.

It is due to the tilt of axis of rotation of the earth as the earth orbits the sun which is our sole source of energy for all practical purposes.

When the north pole is tilted more towards the sun, the Northern hemisphere receives more direct sunshine (energy) and has more hours of sunshine during the day than the southern hemisphere where Argentina is. When the South Pole is more pointed towards the sun, Argentina receives more direct sunshine and has longer days while we have less hours of sunlight and less energy from the sun.

So our seasons are reversed from Argentina.

In USA the sun radiates vertically covering less area of land to heat up quickly whereas in Argentina at the same time it is radiating obliquely covering more area and takes longer time to heat up resulting piling of cold which cause winter there.
