Life is NOT a linear path. When you wake up in the morning, do you know exactly what is going to happen that day? No. No one does. There is no such thing as 'wasting time' on a subject. Every day you learn something new or at least looking at something in a new angle. Any type of information we process or learn is for the betterment of ourselves. Some information may not be seem pertinent at that time. Believe me, everything you see and experience will help you with decisions in the future.

Give yourself time. You see, in your predicament, you are effectively as good at any given thing as you are for another, and thus do not have the obvious advantage of having a clear talent outside of general academia. Try to continue on a little farther....if it is not for you, switch to something that you think you will like. Otherwise, find something to keep you entertained and to fulfill. Indulge in creativity, get a hobby as a craftsman or something, get closer ties to family, friends, or gamble it all and make your meaning in life defined by your "one true love". Life isn't just career (though liking your career helps), so try to stretch out. If worst comes to worst, seek religion.

The purpose of your life is to enjoy yourself and discover new experiences that you like. That said, then study for the career that you will enjoy most. If you happen to change your mind, then you change your mind. It is better then being stuck in something that you don't enjoy. Why the resistance? Is it that you are being pressured? What's the worst thing that could happen either way? It's your life!

I used to feel that way when I was in College. I am still looking. U2's song 'Still haven't found what I'm looking for'
I have climbed highest mountain
I have run through the fields
Only to be with you
Only to be with you
I have run
I have crawled
I have scaled these city walls
These city walls
Only to be with you
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
I have kissed honey lips
Felt the healing in her fingertips
It burned like fire
This burning desire
I have spoke with the tongue of angels
I have held the hand of a devil
It was warm in the night
I was cold as a stone
But I still haven't found what Im looking for
But I still haven't found what Im looking for
I believe in the kingdom come
Then all the colors will bleed into one
Bleed into one
Well yes Im still running
You broke the bonds and you
Loosed the chains
Carried the cross
Of my shame
Of my shame
You know I believed it
But I still haven't found what Im looking for
But I still haven't found what Im looking for
But I still haven't found what Im looking for
But I still haven't found what Im looking for...
KEEP LOOKING
Thank you for your question
