Well, my son was born visuaually impaired, legally blind. he has some sight but has to sit very very close to view the Tv, or hold something extremely close to his eyes to see it.

But for the longest time, he thought EVERYONE has the same vision as he did, so when he would say "hey mom, come look at this", natually I could see it and would say so. He would look at me funny and say, "no really, come here and see this" It never occurred to me that he didn't realize that not everyone was visually impaired.

So...are you in special ed for English?

Of course metal people know they have metal "promblems" - they have to get oiled so they don't squeak at the prom!

Are you cursing all special ed kids with learning disabilities? That's cruel and unusual punishment!

I am so sorry, I am not trying to pick on you, but you need to really pay attention to your spelling, "metal"? I am sure you mean mental, and your icon, "I love Lipgloos", don't you mean Lip-gloss? However, to answer your question, yes, I am sure they know they have a disability or learning disability because they probably had some testing done to determine that (if it was not already very obvious). Are you concerned about yourself?

I just read your profile, I see you are only 10 years old. You seem to be very intelligent, but if you don't correct your grammar now, you will be lost in this literary world. Change the words on your icon to read "I Love Lip-Gloss" (if that is what you mean to say). You left out the "L" in love. Use spell check and proofread before you submit. Develop a keen eye for detail. It can't hurt you.

Not all kids in special education have learning disabilities - some has physical disabilities and very sharp minds, some have behavior issues and equally sharp minds. Yes, a number of the students with learning disabilities definitely know they have them, and they know their limitations. Some are quite smart about their disabilities, and try to exploit that to get out of homework or other things they don't want to do.

Metal people? people who listen to rock music or people really made out of metal??
