more people = more resources consumed (water, wood, food, etc.)

more people = more space taken for living which leaves less for creating the resources consumed

American couples are having less children since the babyboomer generation... Hispanics are coming to america and having more children because of their prodominately catholic heritage therefore the replacement rate among hispanics is much higher than 'Americans.' The American population is growing faster because of the hispanic populations replacement, and with the lower income status of hispanics their cars and homes are using more natural gas and gasoline causing higher polution rates... (In no way is this a racist statement, this is from a sociological point of view)

dumping our wastes everywhere, destruction of other animal habitats are the two obvious ones.
