I was at work....on a military base. I remember the going from the normal day-to-day to seeing our troops go combat ready in less than a 1/2 an hour....it was surreal for sure. I still have a copy of our manning sheet for that day so I never forget who I was riding with.
I still look at the kids walking by and quietly thank them for securing our freedoms.

I was at work . We had the radio on and heard that a plane had hit the Pentagon building . We thought nothing of it at first, you know as far as it being terrorist related .Of course sadly we found out different.
I saw a headline on the front of a local paper today that read "Will 9/11 just become another day on the calendar ?" Although it shouldn't be dwelled upon so much that we are afraid to live, feeling that we are constantly having to look over our shoulder so to speak ,I pray that 9/11 never becomes "another day on the calendar" .Because if it ever does then all those people that were there trying to save lives that ended up dying too when the tower's collapsed and those that were passengers on the plane that diverted the plane to the field in PA so that it wouldn't hit the White House, and those soldiers that have died will all be lives taken away in vain .
We should reflect on that day ,prayer for the families that lost loved one's and show our patriotism .Also pray for the troop's that are fighting for us over sea's.
The Smithsonian Institution had a traveling exhibit that came to Knoxville,TN . I was in total disbelief of some thing's that I seen in the displays . One being what used to be a file cabinet that was in a Ben &Jerry's shop in one of the twin tower's. It looked like a crumpled up piece of aluminum foil.
Here is a site that shows what was in the display

I was in my college morning class at ramapo college in NJ. My professor came into the room and told us that he had to leave b/c a plane hit his apartment in New york city. So we were sent home...i went to my dorm and watched coverage of the horrific events all day and night. I remember my parents and brothers calling to make sure I was alright. My dad worked across the river at the time in NJ and he was watching the buildings fall from outside his company. Seriously sad time for the entire country, although being from the east coast i felt we got hit the hardest. I hope people dont forget what happened then and learn from it. We said "never forget" but I think some may have already.

In my car on my way to work. In my usual morning irritable state, I was zipping through the radio channels trying to find music, couldn't figure out why everyone was talking. I stopped surfing to change lanes and heard it... "One of the Towers has been hit by a plane!" I was so shocked, I finished my lane change without looking, darn near caused a pile-up.
I made it to work finally, and spent the day in a daze, staring at the tv screens in the conference room.

I was in NY, unemployed, w/ CNBC muted on tv in back of me. I turned around and saw the first tower smoking on their background news, so I unmuted it. I started to videotape the show. CNBC went on about the Empire State Building plane accident of 1945. Then the 2nd plane hit so I had taped it in realtime.
Then I called my boyfriend who had tried to run off on me on his vacation but couldn't get a flight to SC that day and told him what happened. Then I went to vote in a primary only to find out that despite the card that was sent to me in the mail, I couldn't vote because I was unaffiliated. I didn't tell anyone at the voting place about the WTC. On my way home, I heard the news about the Pentagon and found it almost unbelievable. Later my boyfriend and I went to the beach and the watchguard planes started to fly.. freaky day.
Oddly enough, I had gotten a premonitory sign the day before, but forgot what it was refering to (I tend to see things years in advance, which doesn't make the visions too believable or rememberable).. though I did mention something of it to the boyfriend who of course didn't understand.

I was here in Thailand. It was shocking. All my Thai coworkers gave their sympathy to me and to my country (US). A short while later when the wonderful man George Bush said you are either with us or against us, the Thai people turned sour to the US government. George Bush and the Republicans are nitwits. They have done more damage to the US than Al Qaeda did. Fools.
