if you mean the square root of negative sixteen, it would be an immaginary number, since you can't square root a negative number, period.
Immaginary is actually a number system, outside of and beside the real number system.

The square root of -16 is an IMAGINARY number -- it's 4 times the square root of -1. (That's really what they call it)

If you accept that the square root of -1 exists (it's usually called i or j) then all quadratic equations have a solution. Your number is 4i, a solution to the equation x^2 + 16 = 0. (-4i is also a solution)

e.g Sq Root of -25 would be written as 5i

if you're referring to 0with negative sign inside, it's called theda. used in place of degrees, used in various math problems.
