A company find that there is a linear relationship between the mount of money that is spends on advertising and the number of units it sells. If It spends no money on advertising, it sels 300 units for each additional $5000 spent, an additional 20 units are sold.

if x is the amount of money that the company spends on advertising, find a formula for y, the number of units as a function of x

Thank you!!

Answer: f(x) = 300 + 250x

Part 1:
When x = 0 units
f(0) = 300 units

Part 2 finding the slope:
The slope is 20 units per $5000;
m = 20/ 5000 = 250

So following the slope intercept formula (y = mx +b),
we have...

y = 300 + 250x
but since f(x) = y,
you can replace the above formula with:
f(x) = 300 + 250x

The general formula for a line is
y=mx + b where m is the slope of the line and b is the point where the line intersects the y axis. The problem says that when no money is spent (x=0), b = 300 units. To find the slope we need to find rise over run. The problem also tells us this specifically, for each $5000 spent / 20 more units sold.
m= 5000/20 = 250. Plug into line equation.

y= 250x + 300

y=5 is a horizontal line on each and every occasion y= a relentless it incredibly is a relentless line(horizontal) vertical is whilst x= a relentless diagonal line is a linear equation with slope blanketed (different than 0) y=mx+b is the linear equation

i know..... no i don't, that question is too confusing dude. if i had to guess, y= 3/50x + 20, cuz 300 units/per $5000= 3/50. i doubt that helps, watever!!!
