the top shouldn't have anything under it, if you wear black under it will totally show.. tacky.
You can wear a bra with no straps or invisible straps (they are clear) if your afraid it is too see-thru. or wear a shrug or a top unbuttoned over it.
If you must wear a top under go with white

I also have a bright purple vest and grey is going o.k. with it. of direction, white and black additionally will pass with something... in case you fairly must be ambitious a bright lime green shirt seems properly if this is the perfect coloration! Everytime I positioned on my lime green shirt with my purple vest i'm getting compliments!

I wouldnt do either you could either wear it by itself or with a white short sleve tee underneather they have them at walmart for 4 dollars. goodluck

it would look stupid if you wore something under it, because the straps are very thin and it would look odd wearing another shirt under it.
