I have to do a science project (it's kinda like a science fair type thing) I am allowed to do a project/ experiment on any topic but it's so hard to pick one that's not too hard. This is the first time I'll be doing a project like this so can anyone Please help me think of an easy topis I can do? I was leaning more towards something that has to do with fruits or vegetables. I have spent so many hours online trying to find something good to do but I honestly cant find something "interesting" and simple for me to do. Please help me. By the way, I'm in eighth grade and I just got in to seminar science so this stuff is new to me.

How about "does talking to one's plants REALLY make a difference in plant health, growth rates, etc?

Make it simple. Have one group of 3 or so different plants (raised from seeds) which receive only sun, water, and plant food. That is your control group.

Have another group of identical plants (raised from seeds) who receive identical treatments of sun, water, and plant food, but also receive 5 minutes/day of "nice talking".

Have a final group (also identical conditions) which receives 5 minutes/day of "mean" talking.

Compare the growth rate, final sizes, and health of all three groups, and determine whether or not (or if so, in what way) talking to plants effects their growth.

I did one with my son a few years ago about which fruits are the most acidic. You can get the testing strips from a chemistry supply store or online, and then you just test various fruits. His hypothesis was that lemons are the most acidic, but I can't remember if the hypothesis was determined to be correct or not. Seems like we found another fruit that was more acidic. This is kind of a more elementary school project, but you can improve your grade by doing a thorough data analysis and great backboard.

Try doing a battery made from a potato and a lemon. See if you can get enough amperage to light one of those little lights found in a flashlight. You'll also need a battery tester.

something with fruit and vegitables? this will be pretty yucky. all i can think of is the rate of decay in different types of containers left out of the refrigerator. like no container with not cut tomatoe. zip lock bag with tomatoe, tupperware container with tomatoe. and see what starts to grow on first and which lasts longest and which possibly will be the most safest to eat although really dont.

i will action picture star, yet in user-friendly terms using fact i admire all of the failings technological information can do for me... like medical care disease and make my computing gadget smaller. yet i'm no good at technological information, no good in any respect, and hence, i do no longer love technological information the others could. :)
