cricket is a sport, you play it on a grass field with a ball made of leather (which is solid and heavy) you also need a cricket bat and some wooden stumps and of course you need two teams to play it, it was invented in England but now most countries have a cricket team, I personally think it is a very boring game

Cricket is a sport played by a team of 11 players on each side. It is played using a Cricket bat and ball. The object of the game is to score more points ( known as runs) than the opossing side.
Each team has a chance for each player in the team to bat and try to score runs whilst the opossing team bowls. The Batsman stands at a crease ( which is in front of 3 sticks called a wicket) The batsman then has to try and hit the ball that is being bowled to him or if not try and defend and blocked the ball from hitting his wicket.Scoring is made if the batsman hits the ball to a marked area where more /higher runs are made ie; 6 runs if he hits the ball without it touching the ground, 4 runs if it does and single runs are made if the batsman runs in between the 2 wickets. The bowler has 6 attempts to try and bowl the batsman out at any one time this is called ( an over ) then another bowler has his turn to try. if a one day game is played each team has 50 overs to bowl ( 300 attempts on the wicket) The victors are the ones who achieve the most runs

Cricket is a bat-and-ball sport contested by two teams, usually of eleven players each. A cricket match is played on a grass field, roughly oval in shape, in the centre of which is a flat strip of ground 22 yards (20.12 m) long, called a pitch. At each end of the pitch is a construction of three parallel wooden stakes (known as stumps) driven vertically into the ground, with two small crosspieces (known as bails) laid across the top of them. This wooden structure is called a wicket.

The bowler, a player from the fielding team, hurls a hard, fist-sized, cork-centred, leather-covered ball from the vicinity of one wicket towards the other. The ball usually bounces once before reaching the batsman, a player from the opposing team. In defence of the wicket, the batsman plays the ball with a wooden cricket bat. Meanwhile, the other members of the bowler's team stand in various positions around the field as fielders, players who retrieve the batted ball in an effort to stop the batsman scoring, and if possible to get him or her out. The batsman, if he or she does not get out (for example if the bowled ball hits the wicket, or if a fielder catches the ball off the bat before it bounces), may run between the wickets, exchanging ends with a second batsman (the non-striker), who has been waiting near the bowler's wicket. Each completed exchange of ends scores one run, and the match is won by the team that scores more runs

Cricket is a team sport involving a bat and ball played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective is to score more runs than the opposing team. A match is divided into innings during which one team bats, two batsmen at a time, and the other team bowls.

Cricket originated in its modern form in England, and is popular mainly in the countries of the Commonwealth. In the countries of South Asia, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, cricket is by far the most popular participatory and spectator sport, and it is also a major sport in places such as England and Wales, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Zimbabwe and the English-speaking Caribbean (called the West Indies). Cricket is arguably the second most popular sport in the world.~(number of fans)

Cricket is a sport. One oval pitch, two teams, a bat, a ball, some stumps (wicket), teams bat in pairs one batting at a time both running, eleven people each side. The batting player can be ruled 'out' by being bowled, caught or run out, until he is out he can score runs. When ten people are out the teams change sides. They do this twice and the winning team is the one with the most runs :-)

They have great names for fielding positions like 'silly mid off'.

Sounds nuts but it's fantastic and there is something very 'english' about it!

By the way, a test match can last for five days.

quite simply the best sport. it requires more skills than any other. the technique and concentration it takes to bat for 8 hours without giving a chance is huge. a fast bowler who bowls 25 overs in a day runs almost 5ks at top speed. it's the only sport where a man of 5 foot can compete against a man of 6 ft 7 on a level playing field

Overs is - 6 balls per over.
Bowler - is a played that runs & throw over hand to the batsman.

After the two batsman meet their objective 50 overs.
Then the other team must bat & the two batsman will now field with 11 playes on the field.
Now the other two batsman will have to chase the opponets score....
In order to win the cricket game.
However, a batsman must not wear a squash glove bc, that will be considered cheating..
