Another TI-83 Question re: list names?

Question

One of my students does not have L1 when you go into STAT Edit List. It begins with L2, L3, etc. I've reset his RAM and that did not do anything. Any ideas how to rename that first column back to to L1?

Hi,
Sure, happy to be of help.
a) Press STAT, ENTER to get to the lists.
b) Move the cursor over to the L2 column and move the cursor up until L2 is highlighted.
c) Press 2nd, INS (that's the delete button.).
d) You'll notice that "Name=" appears at the bottom of the screen (without the quotes, of course.) So, give it a name as follows:
e) Press 2nd, L1 (the button for 1), ENTER and your problem is solved.
Incidentally, tell your students not to press DEL while one of the list names is highlighted and maybe your problem will stay solved.
