I'm sure that you have heard this from your parents a million times, but if they were really your friends then they wouldn't care if you were helping the new kid. If you think about it logically then it really does make sense. If your friends like you for who you really are and not who you pretend to be and if helping out the new kid is something that the real you would do then your friends won't care. If your friends think your weird because of it, then they probably don't like the real you. Not that they are evil for that, but it does say that they don't necessarily want to be friends with the real you. Think about that logically rather than a piece of cheesy advice, and it will actually make a lot of sense. Besides that, it is hard being the new kid. I just started going to a new school this year, and it was difficult from time to time, and it even still is. It is always nice though when someone asks you what your name is or where you are from and all that. I'm sure that the new kid will really appreciate you helping him/her, and who knows you might just be acquaintances or you might end up being best friends. You never know until you try and find out.

You think this is a good idea, to help this new kid. If your friends don't think it's a good idea, maybe they aren't the kinds of friends you would really like to have. Imagine if you helped this kid, and some other kids said "Wow, that was really nice of you." Maybe those are the kinds of people you want to have as friends.
Do what you believe is right, and the right people will come to you.

So what if your friends might think he's weird, are you going to let peer pressure stop you from being the nice person that you clearly are? You better learn to stand independently right now, or you'll be letting what others think guide your decisions for the rest of your life. It's no way to live.

If somebody is new at school and you want to help them then do it. Who cares if your friends thinks its weird. If the kid needs help getting around school and you want to help, then don't be afraid. I was once the new kid at school and I can tell you that kind people who offer to help one find their way around school and get to know where things is, comes rarely. When you feel something like this in your heart, then you really need to do it. Your friends need to respect your desicion and somehow deal w/ it or else they are not really friends.

'Hope this helps!

Help him. If your friends think it's weird, maybe you should consider new friends. Do you really want to hang around people that are that mean & judgemental?

if your friends think you're weird for helping someone then you need to find new friends. Maybe you'll start a trend and other people will try to be his friend too. Don't be afraid to do the right thing.
