Does anyone know a story that involves taboo. If yes, what is the story and where can I read it.

In the late 19th century fisherman of the Orkneys and Shetlands would not say the word Church, but used the word banehoos or bellhoos. Church was taboo because then the Bell of the Church might not ring to lead them home in a fog.
