MetroPCS uses proprietary technology (their own that is not universally to other carriers). Even if you have a Motorla Razor or any phone that has a place for a SIM card, you just can't use it with Metro. Metro's phones have been modieifed to only work with MetroPCS.

I wish it was more universal; I have a need where it would be nice to go out of the country on vacation, and take my phone fromom here and swap out the SIM card and then have a phone that I am familiar with. But for now, we all have to "dream" about that moment.
